The conveyor belt(2) for the transporting of especially foodstuffs has supports(3) which are variable in their relative spacing and detachably connected to the conveyor belt. The posts on their side facing the conveyor belt have at least one protrusion fitting in a hole in the conveyor to facilitate positioning of the posts on the conveyor belt. At least one groove is provided in the conveyor belt and extends at right angles to the direction of transportation, and into which fits or slides a corresponding tongue on the post.
