The arrangement has at least one internal combustion engine and at least one electrical machine connected to the internal combustion engine with generator and motor functions and at least one gearbox with several gear ratio stages for selection depending on the operating situation, including a traction mode with the vehicle driven by the internal combustion engine and/or electrical machine, a coasting mode, a cold starting phase and a hot starting phase. AN Independent claim is also included for a method of operating a vehicle with an inventive drive train.
