PPROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a device for the purpose of attaining re-releasable coupling of an optical element with at least one optical fiber, particularly with a single mode fiber having a fiber core diameter of μm level. PSOLUTION: The device is composed of a sleeve 2 attachable to a fiber 1 end and an adjusting unit 3 with a counter fitting part 4 installed for storing the sleeve. The fitting part 4 is provided, on the inner surface, two ridges 5a, 5b that are counterparts to which the sleeve 2 are pressurized with an accessory 6 at the time of coupling. The pressurization of the sleeve 2 to both ridges clearly determines the position of the sleeve 2 and accordingly the position of the optical fiber 1. As a result, coupling with high reproducibility is realized. The device as proposed is applicable to every technological field that needs quick coupling of an optical fiber 1 with an optical element without spending high adjusting cost. PCOPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO
