A method for the utilization of the material for films of plastic waste materials and composite materials with films proportions

In a process utilising scrap plastic film and composite materials contg. plastic film, the scrap materials are:- (i) reduced in size to less than 200mm square, pref. below 30mm square; (ii) heated above the m.pt of the plastic; (iii) compressed in conventional equipment into slabs with an edge length of 3-80mm; and (iv) fed into a pressurised solid bed gasifier for conversion into useable gas. Pref. additional pulverised solid plastic scrap, particulate and/or pasty scrap is added to the scrap film before heating. USE/ADVANTAGE - Exploitation of the energy content of scrap plastic film. Allows simultaneous utilisation of powdered plastics and pastes, thereby avoiding dumping.
