PURPOSE: To measure the temp. distribution in a living body at a high speed with high accuracy and to convert the measured temp. distribution to an image by constituting the subject diagnostic system of means for collecting the chemical shift information of chemical shift groups having dependence on temp., determining the temp. distribution from the difference therebetween and displaying the image. ;CONSTITUTION: This diagnostic system is constituted of a main magnet 10 and main magnet power source 11 for generating a main magnetic field; a gradient coil system 12 and gradient coil power source 13 for forming gradient magnetic fields, a shim coil system 14 and shim coil powder source 15, a high-frequency probe 16 for detecting a magnetic resonance signal, a signal transmitter and receiver 17, 18, a sequence controller 19 and a CPU/memory 20. The chemical shift information and space three-dimensional information are obtd. by a multidimensional MRSI method or Phase-Mapping method utilizing the fact that the temp. is known by measuring a change in the chemical shift of the hydrogen bonded OH groups.
