The invention concerns a switchgear, such as a change-over switch, with very good quality/price ratio, enabling new switching combinations and simple and inexpensive production of different types of switchgear. The switchgear (1) comprises two superposed switching blocks (10, 20) each associated with an actuating block (30, 40) and a control block (60) provided with a control shaft (64) connected to a handle (61) for simultaneously controlling said actuating blocks (30, 40). This switchgear (1) is characterised in that the actuating blocks (30, 40) are superposed back to back and are arranged between the mutually inverted switching blocks (10, 20). The actuating blocks (30, 40) comprise a mechanism with modifiable configuration. Likewise, the connection points between this mechanism and the control shaft (64) can also be modified, thus resulting in five switching combinations between the switching blocks. The invention is applicable to electrical installations in general.
