Composition (A) for oxidation dyeing of keratin fibers comprises oxidation dye(s) (I) and at least one each of (i) fatty alcohol (II) with over 20 carbon atoms; (ii) optional fatty alcohol (IIa) with not more than 20 carbons; (iii) nonionic ethoxylated surfactant (III) with HLB (hydrophilic lipophilic balance) over 5 and (iv) optional ethoxylated surfactant (IIIa) with HLB 5 or lower. The weight ratio (III)/((II)+(IIa)+(IIIa)) is = 1. Independent claims are also included for the following: (1) Ready-for-use hair dyeing composition containing (A) and a composition (B) containing at least one oxidizing agent. (2) Method for dyeing hair by applying (A) and developing color with (B), added at the same time as (A) or subsequently, without intermediate rinsing. (3) Kit for dyeing hair having at least two compartments, one for (A) and the other for (B).
