Recovery method involves, after ceasing to spray the coating fluid, sucking up the residual fluid contained in the conduit (3) connecting the color changing unit (2) to the spray gun (4), inside a reservoir (20) adjacent to the color changing unit. Then the coating fluid contained in the reservoir is driven back to the color changing unit and the conduit (5) emerging inside the unit and corresponding to the color of the selected coating fluid.
