The packet transmission network towards a number of mobile units has packets forming information blocks at allocated time intervals for several mobile telephones. Before sending the packets the network sends an information message identifying the packet blocks for each mobile unit and the allocated time interval. The downlink transmission has the network allocating time slots for sets of mobile telephones. Prior to sending off the allocated time slot set, the network transmits an information message or field containing the details of which information is for which terminal.
