The invention relates to a method for obtaining the diamond effect in a manufactured product made of precious metal, in particular for a chain (A) with links (1) of the hollow type, remarkable in that at least one phase of the machining provides for the predisposition, inside a mold (4) and a corresponding counter-mold (5), of at least one core (7), which passes through each link (1) involved in the deformation, having the surface of the perimeter in contact with the internal perimeter of each link (1). The invention also relates to the apparatus for obtaining the diamond effect in a manufactured product of precious metal and the chain of precious metal, of the type with empty links thus obtained. Application: chain production with hollow type links.
