The cutter consists of case (2) and a blade (6), which has two positions, primary, projecting outside the case, and secondary, retracted within the case. The blade is fitted to a carrier (4), fitted to slide on a guide (3). A slider/pusher (7) is mounted externally to slide on the case, to drive the blade carrier towards the out position. The blade carrier and pusher are driven back into the case by a spring system (8 - 11). A locking mechanism (7b, 16, 17) is provided to lock the blade in the out position and to release automatically, when the cutting action stops.
