The method of reducing vibration in motor vehicle transmission involves sensing the variation on couple in the transmission and determining the period of load reversal caused by the variation. At the commencement of variation of couple, a supplementary couple is applied which causes a reverse vibration in opposition to the phase of the vibration couple. The duration of the auxiliary couple is one half of the period of couple variation. Claims include a circuit for operating the method.
