The ladder comprises two uprights (m1,m2) connected by parallel spaced rungs (g). Towards the top of one of the uprights is a housing (3) in which a flexible link (1) is placed, one end of the link is located outside the housing and provided with a snap hook (2). The link can be extracted from the housing over a sufficient length to allow a loop surrounding an anchoring element to be formed. There is a lever (4) for mechanically tensioning the link to ensure the efficacy of the tie down.
