The item of furniture, such as a cupboard or cabinet, incorporates at least one carousel storage unit (200) that rotates between partitions (P1 - P4) with an opening (A) for access to its contents, located between two partitions at right angles to one another. The carousel is fitted with a mobile partition (250) that turns with it and has an outer surface in the shape of a cylindrical sector to cover the access opening when the unit is closed. The carousel has a number of radial separators (230) and the mobile partition has a groove (254) in its rear surface for fixing to one of them.
