Manufacture of a dummy in form of a torso includes taking a cast of a torso, removing the cast cutting the cast into the dummy by cutting it up into pieces and then re-assembling them to form a core. Lingerie is placed on the cast, starched, dried and coated with a release agent. A second cast is made from the first cast. The dummy is made by coating the internal face of the second cast and then applying a reinforcing layer.. The second cast is separated to remove the dummy which is then finished. An Independent claims are included for the following: (a) In the above method the second cast is made of the dressed core having a primary layer formed from a liquid silicone elastomer and a structural layer. The second core is cut into pieces and then reassembled and stiffened. (b) A dummy made as in (a).
