The tripod-type homokinetic universal joint comprises a housing (15) with three radial bores and a central tripod component (12) with arms (11) which fit through the bores. Needle bearings (16, 17) are fitted around the arms and the bearing seatings (13) in each bore have a series of parallel grooves one above the other in their surface.
