The connector for paving slabs (4) subjected to heavy loads comprises two sockets, each with a recess which are fitted into the edges of the slabs with the recesses facing each other. A circular key (13) fits into the recesses to connect the slabs. A sealing gasket with a central slot can be fitted around the key between the slabs. An Independent claim is included for a method of repairing a surface using the connector.
