Aqueous dispersions of hydrophobic polyurethanes prepared from a mixture of a polyol (I) and a diol (II) having neutralized acid functions in a (I)/(I) molar ratio of 1 - 2 are used as components of marine antifouling paints. Independent claims are also included for the following: (i) a process for treating a substrate with such a paint, comprising applying the paint by spraying, roller or brush and drying the paint at 0 - 80 deg C and 20 - 80 % relative humidity; and (ii) objects that are destined to be immersed in a marine medium and have been treated by the process of (i).
