A pneumatic tire has a tread with grooves separating parts lying in a plane. Each part has a curved chamfered edge where B = kA. A is the groove width at the level of the tread. B is the chamfer radius. K is a constant having a value between 0.2 and 0.3. The main longitudinal groove(s) and lateral grooves of the tread may have the chamfered edges.
