The fishing lure comprises a casing which contains a spring loaded slide on which hinged barbs are mounted. These are normally held inside the casing, but the impact of a fish taking the bait pushes the casing back and allows them to emerge through slots in the casing, catching it. The fish can be released by the angler pushing on the end of the lure, so that the barbs resume a flat position.
