The security cylinder comprises a double stator block (1), a key bit (6), a barrel rotor (12) in a first stator (3a) and a declutchable transmission means (58) able to translate relative to the stator block between a declutched position and a clutched position where it makes a rotating mechanical connection between the rotor barrel and the key bit. An operating button (18) is mounted at the outer end of a second stator (3b) and a second declutchable transmission means (32) arranged between the operating button and the key bit able to translate between a clutched position where it makes a rotating mechanical connection between the button and the key bit and a declutched position where it releases rotation of the button relative to the key bit. The first transmission means in its clutched position engages the second transmission means to move this latter into its declutched position.
