The tractor comprises a chassis (4) with tracks (Cd,Cg) on each side and a steering control (5) which modifies the speed of one track relative to the other. The mechanism comprises a counterweight mass (M) which moves on the chassis in a transverse direction and a displacement control (D) of the mass. This control enables the mass to be displaced laterally from the side where the traction is insufficient.
