Internet shopping payment technique uses telephone company to accept mutual authorization of transaction, pay seller and re-invoice purchasing customer

The method for purchasing goods and services via the Internet uses a telephone company to authorise payment for goods. Both the seller and the buyer send authorizing messages to the telephone company which then arranges credit to the seller, and re-invoices the buyer for the value of the goods. The method for carrying out a commercial transaction over a network such as the Internet (2) includes a link between a server (3) marketing goods and/or services and the Internet, and between a personal computer (1) and the Internet, enabling the buyer to access the commercial server. The buyer and the provider are registered with a common telecommunications operator, and it is the telecommunications operator who authorizes the transaction from joint requests transmitted by the provider and the buyer. Once the transaction has been authorized, the telecommunications operator triggers the payment to the provider, the payment then being re-billed to the buyer by the telecommunications operator. The communication with the telecommunications operator may be made by mobile phone, with the phone SIM card details being recorded as part of the validation procedure.
