Manually controlled grinding machine for grinding tread of worn or damaged tire comprises grinder mounted on third support by fourth support, and control mechanism interacting between third and fourth supports
A manually controlled grinding machine for grinding the tread of a worn or damaged tire comprises first, second, and third supports, grinder, and control mechanism. The grinder is mounted on the third support by a fourth support. The control mechanism interacts between the third and fourth supports and may be activated to rotate the fourth support and grinder about the third axis. A manually controlled grinding machine for grinding the tread of a worn or damaged tire comprises: (a) a first support (1) which supports the center of a vertically positioned worn or damaged tire (2) and can rotate about a first horizontal axis (3), making the tire rotate about its central axis of rotation; (b) a second support (7) positioned vertically on one side of the tire supported by the first support; (c) a third support (8), which can be moved manually, having an elongated shape and comprising a first end connected to an upper part of the second support by a connector (11) with at least three degrees of freedom, and a second end which can be grasped by an operator (6), the third support extending during operation, horizontally from the second support, passing above the tread of the tire supported by the first support; (d) a grinder (9) supported by the third support between first and second ends of the latter, which, during operation, is driven by a motor (34) about a second horizontal axis (33) for grinding a desired area of the upper part of the tire tread, the grinder being mounted on the third support by a fourth support (35) which can rotate relative to the third support about a third vertical axis (36) intersecting with the second axis at the center of the grinder;and (e) a control mechanism (46) interacting between the third and fourth supports and may be activated to rotate the fourth support and grinder about the third axis.
