The runner comprises first and second sections (6,7) the first carrying a first rigid catch (20) sliding between locked and unlocked positions to allow the relative sliding of the two sections. The first catch is moved between its two positions by a control part. There is a second catch which slides relative to the first section in a perpendicular direction. This second catch is moved by the action of the control part to an unlocked position where it does not engage notches (14) in the second section.
