Miniaturized magnetic field sensor of the flux-gate type has a magnetic circuit (1) with two symmetrical branches (4, 5) with respect to a parallel plane in the detection direction (6), an excitation coil (2) surrounding the magnetic circuit for inducing opposing magnetic fields in the two branches, and detection coil (3) the voltage across whose coils is proportional to the total flux in the two branches. The branches are comprised of several sections (10) separated by breaks (11) perpendicular to the detection direction.
