TOOL FOR HOLDING A DAWN AND ITS APPLICATION TO FRICTION WELDING OF DAWNS

A tool for holding a blade blank (1) comprises a frame (13) in which a jaw control system (18, 19) and cams (30, 34, 35) tightens the blade and maintaining it in a vertical position on two support facets (22, 23), while the blade has been placed on three lateral facets (41, 42, 43). It therefore reconciles maintaining the blade at a precise position and sufficient tightening, all with a main mechanism with a single control. The assembly of the blade is then very simplified, and it can be subjected without other precautions to a manufacturing operation such as friction welding to a rotor disc.
