The scanner (20) with a high strength grip has at least one end of the grip (22) provided with a holding section (24,26) for screwing a nut, bolt or similar. The holding section forms a flat screw engagement surface. A first flat surface (30) is axially formed on the grip and has a cross-section which mainly runs to the screw engagement surface. The grip has two second flat surfaces (32), which are formed on the two sides of the first flat surface along the axis of the grip. The second flat surfaces and the first flat surface enclose a large angle and the second flat surfaces are formed along the complete length of the grip.
