The assembly (80) to gather beads (20), to be threaded on to wefts for weaving fabrics with beads, has at least one holding zone (81) with a number of walls and a passage opening (85) leading to a reception plate (86) fitted with rims. They retain the flow of beads through the opening and concentrate the return flow into the holding zone. The assembly to gather beads, to be threaded on to wefts for weaving, has a reception plate which is covered by a cladding of felt with a rough surface. The reception plate is an extension of the base wall of the holding zone. The bead holding zones are in pairs with a dedicated reception plate for each pair and a swing closure (88) for the openings in the pairs. The closure can swing to block both openings and free a selected opening, and it divides the reception plate into two compartments. The swing closure has the shape of a rigid or pliable hammer, which swings on an axis (89). The base of the bead holding zone and the reception plate form one section. The upper wall and the lateral walls of the holding zone, together with the swing closure and the reception plate rims, form a second section. The bead gathering unit is preferably of a plastics material.
