Method for improving alignment accuracy of a printable item on a print forme that is produced prior to printing and then transferred to forme cylinder of a printer. Accordingly alignment and adjustment of the printable item is undertaken in a reference system that is common to the arrangement for mounting the forme on the forme cylinder. Print media positioning occurs in the same reference system. The invention also relates to a corresponding device for use with printing equipment.
