The printing machine (2) applies (6) charge to a cylinder (5) pressing a strip, with an insulating substrate (3), onto a print cylinder (4) to form an image, and has ionizing electrodes (7,8) to neutralize charge on the substrate. The electrodes have rows of points perpendicular to the substrate. One electrode set is connected to positive potential and the other to negative potential.
