The gearbox is fitted with a primary shaft with integral primary pinions and a secondary shaft (2) with secondary pinions (1.2,2.2,3.2,4.2,5.2) idling on the shaft. An input clutch is connected to the primary shaft at a first end of the box and a torque distribution clutch (12) is connected at the second opposite end of the box to the secondary hollow shaft is activated by a tie rod (18). The tie rod which passes through the hollow secondary shaft is activated by a hydraulic actuator (20,21,22) located at the first end of the box in the axis of the secondary shaft.
