The mixer consists of a rotating cylindrical drum (1) inclined slightly to the horizontal and having an input hopper (3) for fresh aggregate at one end and a burner (2) and feeder (12) for recycled bitumen-coated materials at the other. It has a zone (7) for drying the fresh aggregate and mixing it with the bitumen-coated materials surrounding a body (2a) of the burner (2) which protrudes axially inside the drum. The recycled material feeder is in the form of an endless belt conveyor with a supple belt travelling at sufficient speed to deposit the material in the drying/mixing zone behind the flame zone (6).
