The orthesis, designed to be fitted against the side of a broken finger, comprises two flat radio-transparent plates (1c) located on either side of a central hinge which is aligned with the axis of the finger joint. Each plate has a set of partly or completely pierced holes (1d), some or all of which can be used for inserting bone pins into the fractured bone fragments. The plates also have radio-opaque markers to facilitate positioning, and they can have grooves to receive a stiffener to hold them in an aligned position.
