Apparatus for assisting in the clearing of leaf litter from the rail of a railway line

The apparatus comprises a manually propelled trolley with front 3 and rear 4 rollers for engaging with a rail 2 of a railway line and cleaning means 5 for brushing or grinding away leaf litter from the track. An engine 7 acts to drive or power the cleaning means and the apparatus also includes adjustment means 6 by which the height or bias of the cleaning means may be adjusted. The cleaning means may comprise a rotatable wire brush or a rotatable disk which is preferably formed from nylon resin. The engine may comprise a two-stroke or four-stroke engine or an electric motor.
