A second opinion acquisition support system and a second opinion acquisition method which can obtain the diagnosis of a third party even in the stage in which a patient has a specific medical institution. The patient's name, medical examination medical name, and hospital name are input from the patient terminal and access the medical information provider. The provider makes a database of medical doctors and medical institutions to understand the provision of the second opinion. The request includes the current medical care data of the patient read from the above described medical institution in addition to the patient information inputted from the patient terminal. The doctor and medical institution who have received the request make a diagnosis based on these information, and return the diagnosis result to the claimant as a second opinion.
