PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a disk device, a video/sound data processor and a video/ sound controlling method in which a stream data processing function is added to a disk device and which is virtually equipped with a processing function for each command in a digital VCR, whereby various process requests from external equipment is possible to deal with. SOLUTION: These disk device and video/sound data processor detect the boundary of a video/sound frame of the video/sound data, divide the video/sound data continuously received from outside in accordance with the detected boundary of the video/sound frame into video/sound frame units. Data of the divided video/sound frame units are stored into a disk medium and are controlled. Further, the video/sound controlling method is executed by detecting the boundary of the video/sound frame of the video/sound data, dividing the video/sound data continuously received from outside in accordance with the detected boundary of the video/sound frame into the video/sound frame units and controlling the video/sound data.
