PURPOSE: To obtain a thermosetting compound useful as a highly functional molding material, a coating compound, etc., hardly causing a volatile by-product during a curing reaction, having rapidly curing properties by bonding two kinds of specific structural units directly or through an organic group. ;CONSTITUTION: This compound contains (A) a structural unit of formula I and (B) a structural unit of formula II [R1 is methyl, cyclohexyl or (substituted) phenyl] in one molecule in which hydrogen atoms of the aromatic groups of the structural units of formula I and formula II may be replaced except one hydrogen atom at the ortho-position of hydroxyl of formula I, the molar ratio of the structural unit A/the structural unit B of 1/0.25-9, in the case of the numbers of the structural units A and B being (m) and (n), (m)≥1, (n)≥1 and 10≥m+n≥2 and the structural units are bonded directly or through an organic group [preferably an alkylene or a group of formula III (R2 is H, methyl or ethyl) or xylylene].;COPYRIGHT: (C)1995,JPO
