PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a molded article having high sintering density and excellent mechanical strength by improving thermal decomposability of a binder used for injection molding of metal powder or ceramic powder. ;SOLUTION: The binder used in this invention comprises agar having average mol. wt. of 30,000-150,000 and gel-strength of 200-480 g/cm2 at 4% concn. and water. A molding composition is obtained by kneading this binder and metal powder, ceramic powder or a mixture of these powders. An objective molding article is prepared by injection molding of the molding composition to obtain a green body and then sintering the green body after removing at least water from the green body.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1999,JPO
