PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To decrease the DC offset components of signals outputted from an induced current type absolute position transducer.;SOLUTION: This transducer has a scale 202 and a read head 214 which are movable relative to each other along a measurement shaft 212, the read head 214 including at least one flux sensor (receiver winding groups 224, 226). The scale 202 has a plurality of closed loop coupling loops 204 extending along the measurement shaft 212. The plurality of closed loop coupling loops 204 include a plurality of first loop portions 206 and a plurality of second loop portion 208. The plurality of first loop portions 206 are arranged with intervals of a first wavelength λ1 along the measurement shaft 212 and the plurality of second loop portions 208 are arranged with intervals of a second wavelength λ2 different from the first wavelength.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2000,JPO
