PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an air purifying apparatus widening an effective area permitting free work to obtain an ultra-clean space, a method for purifying a hermetically closed space using the purifying apparatus and the hermetically closed space. ;SOLUTION: In an air purifying apparatus equipped with an ultraviolet source, a photon discharge material and an electric field setting and charge particles collecting electrode material, the box body 13 surrounded by an outer frame is provided and the ultraviolet source 2 and the photon discharge material 3 are arranged to the central part of the box body 13 and electrode materials 4-1-4-3 are provided to the outer peripheral part thereof to be integrated therewith and an air inflow port is provided to the lower part of the central part of the box body 3 and an air outflow port is provided to the outer peripheral side surface part thereof. In this purifying apparatus, a photocatalyst can be arranged to the irradiation surface irradiated with ultraviolet rays in the box body 13 and the purifying apparatus is arranged to the ceiling part of a hermetically closed space so that the air inflow part is turned downwardly and air in the hermetically closed space is passed through this apparatus to be purified.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1998,JPO
