PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a mold economically preparable with a little size change and having improved use performance. ;SOLUTION: This alloy is an iron-based alloy including, by wt.% 0.25-1.0C, max. 1.0 Si, max. 1.6 Mn, 0.10-0.35 N, max. 1.0 Al, max. 2.8 Co, 14.0-25.0 Cr, 0.5-3.0 Mo, max. 3.9 Ni, 0.04-0.4 V, max. 3.0W, max. 0.18 Nb and max. 0.20 Ti, where the sum of the concn. of carbon and nitrogen is 0.5-1.2, and the balance including iron and melt-related impurities, having the hardness of Rockwell C(HRC) of at least 45, preferably 50-55 HRC and high corrosion resistance and used as steel for a mold for plastic to be thermally treat and which can be ground like a mirror plane.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1996,JPO
