PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain the subject composition, in which uric acid is stably stabilized, by compounding uric acid, an acrylic polymer, an alkali agent and water, and adjusting pH to a specific value using the alkali agent. ;SOLUTION: The objective composition is obtained by compounding (A) uric acid (a salt or a derivative) in an amount of 0.01-2.0 wt.% (expressed by means of uric acid itself), (B) 0.01-10.0 wt.% of an acrylic polymer consisting of a carboxyvinyl polymer, a copolymer of acrylic acid-methacrylic acid polymer and an alkyl, etc., (C) an alkali agent such as an amine-based alkali agent and (D) water, and adjusting the pH value of the composition to or higher than the pK1 of the component A, preferably ≥7 in pH with the component C to solubilize the component A. As to the manufacturing method, it is preferable that the component A is added to the component D, the pH of the mixture is adjusted to a specific value with the component C, subsequently the component B is added, the component B is solubilized by heating if necessary, and then another base material is added to produce a gel, a past or a cream preparation, etc.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1998,JPO
