PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To attain communication with high reliability at high speed by provid ing a plurality of addresses to one interface of a terminal and dynamically changing an optimum start point address according to a communication opposite party so as to make a plurality of paths available even when hierarchical path control is conducted in a network configuration using a plurality of prefixes with different paths. ;SOLUTION: In the case that a terminal 4 having a plurality of addresses with different paths makes a communication, the terminal 4 uses a retrieval table of a start, point address selector 5 to retrieve prefix information providing an optimum routing and selects a start point address coincident with its own addresses in terms of the critical path method to dynamically select the start point address providing an optimum routing. Furthermore, the terminal 4 acquires information of a communication unavailable prefix periodically advertised so that the terminal 4 can select the start point address not causing disabled communication through a return path in the case of selecting the start point address.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2000,JPO
