PURPOSE: To provide the subject harvester capable of performing the cutting treatment of stems and leaves before pulling out stems and leaves and the precise pulling out operation in harvesting a crop having the subterranean stem such as a potato. ;CONSTITUTION: This harvester for pulling out stem and leaf parts of a crop having the subterranean stem is provided by installing dividers 1 and 1' for moving in furrows on both sides at a low position in the front and mobile wheels 2 and 2' located at the rear thereof on shafts, constituting a machine body 3, installing a stem and leaf cutter 4 facing to the terminal end of the dividers 1 and 1' on a shaft in the front of the intermediate part of the machine body 3, installing raking in belts 5 and 5' having the fronts thereof opened in the shape of truncated chebron at positions under the stem and leaf cutter 4 on shafts, arranging a pair of the first right and left nipping belts 6 and 6' succeeding the raking in belts 5 and 5' in a tilted state in which the starting ends are located below and the terminal ends are located above, installing the second nipping belts 7 and 7' kept in nearly the same tilted state as that of the first nipping belts 6 and 6' at the rear thereof and arranging pressing units 8 and 8' for approaching to the field surface and pressing the subterranean stem parts at positions below the second nipping belts 7 and 7'.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1995,JPO
