Poly (trimethylene terephthalate) chips with excellent spinnability

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a polytrimethylene terephthalate chip containing a low level of a polymer with a high melting point which becomes a cause for imperfect melting during melt molding. ;SOLUTION: This chip has the content of a polymer with a melt point higher than the average melt point of the chip by 3°C or more amounting to 50 mg/(g chip) or less to the total chip amount. The method for manufacturing the chip is such that the melt-extruded polymer is cooled and set so as to set a crystallization energy at 40 mJ/mg or less. Further, the polymer is cut into chips so that the frictional heat temperature during cutting is 100°C or less.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1999,JPO
