PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an apparatus for acquiring transmitted X-ray data with X-rays of a suitable dose for each of a long diameter portion and a short diameter portion and an X-ray tomograph for generating a tomographic image based upon thus acquired transmitted X-ray data.;SOLUTION: When acquiring the transmitted X-ray data of a plurality of views by rotating, around a target of imaging, an X-ray irradiation/detection apparatus having an X-ray irradiation device having an X-ray tube for radiating a fan-shaped X-ray beam and an X-ray detection device opposed to said X-ray irradiation device with the target between while arraying a plurality of X-ray detection elements in the spreading direction of the fan-shaped X-ray beam, the dose of X-ray beams is made mutually different in a predetermined rotation angle range with a short-axis direction as its center when the cross section of the target is regarded as an ellipse, and in the other rotation angle range.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO
