PPROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an exhaust gas treatment apparatus capable of reducing the leak amount of ammonia, and an exhaust gas treatment method using the same. PSOLUTION: In order to lower the concentration of ammonia in the exhaust gas, which is supplied to the first range (the intermediate upper side between regions 34a and 34b) of the region 34 to which the exhaust gas is supplied of a moving bed 33, toward the upstream side of the moving bed 33, the concentration of ammonia of the exhaust gas on the upstream side not too requiring ammonia for denitration by the contribution of a reductive substance is lowered as compared with that on the downstream side of the moving bed and ammonia exhausted without contributing to denitration is reduced as compared with such a case that the concentration of ammonia in the exhaust gas supplied to the first range is made almost constant or enhanced toward the upstream side. Since the denitration due to the reductive substance is performed much toward the upstream side, the denitration ratio on the upstream side is not lowered even if the concentration of ammonia on the upstream side is lowered.
