The present invention relates to (i) non-peptide aspartyl protease inhibitors; (ii) methods for modulating the processing of an amyloid precursor protein (APP); (iii) methods for modulating the processing of a tau protein ( tau -protein); and (iv) methods for treating neurodegenerative diseases.
