PURPOSE: To realize an apparatus suitable for tandem driving two self-propelled multi-way cars having an internal combustion engine as driving apparatus for rail cars. ;CONSTITUTION: Multi-way cars 10 are controlled in such a way that the rotating angle of an adjusting shaft 51 of an injection pump 50 of a multi-way car switched to a slave car agrees with the rotating angle of an adjusting shaft 51a operated by an operator of an injection pump 50a of a multi-way car switched to a master car 10a. The injection pump 50 of the internal combustion engine of each multi-way car 10 is equipped with a regulator R for follow-up control. Accordingly, the output of the engine of the two multi-way cars is equally performed and tandem driving for strongly towing or pressing ahead rail cars is efficiently performed even on steep tracks.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1994,JPO
